Lab/Position Summary: Join Samsung Research America in Plano, Texas to contribute to the system prototype development of next generation wireless communication and sensing systems.
Participate in the design of next generation wireless communication prototypes.
Develop algorithms for wireless modem, and advanced digital, analog and RF signal processing system.
Implement and verify the algorithms on state-of-the-art FPGA and/or DSP platform.
Hands-on design experience on modem algorithm or high-speed signal processing data-path development: digital filters, FFTs, synchronization, channel estimation, equalization, MIMO detection, error-correction codes, etc.
Hands-on design experience on the development of real-time algorithms in VHDL/Verilog on FPGA/ASIC, embedded hardware platform such as high performance multi-core SoCs, National Instruments LabVIEW and USRP platform. Good understanding of hardware software partitioning and resource/cost tradeoffs.
Familiar with CPU and DSP architecture, and signal processing software development.
Good understanding of RF system architecture, performance specification and measurement, RF/baseband interface.
Education – the student needs to be at least in the 2nd year of his/her PhD program.
