Position Summary:
Our research focuses on:
Wireless standards and technology including 5G/6G, Wi-Fi, FiRa/UWB, etc.
RF & fast prototyping of 5G/6G and IEEE 802 wireless systems and/or use cases
Multimedia standards and technology including VR, HDR, All-IP delivery
IoT standards and Smart Home connectivity/sensing technology
Position Responsibilities:
Perform research for next generation wireless communication technologies and systems with focus on channel coding and forward error correction.
Improve existing channel codes, e.g. 5G LDPC and polar codes, and design novel codes for high spectral efficiency, low latency and low-power consumption.
Evaluate the developed technologies to demonstrate the improved performance.
Required Skills:
PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on channel-coding research or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Solid theoretical knowledge and background on channel coding (LDPC, Polar codes, etc.), information theory, modulations, and wireless communications.
Solid knowledge and experiences on practical aspects of channel codes design, advanced encoding and decoding algorithms and physical layer procedures.
Proven skills in Matlab, Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development and link-level simulations.
Ability to clearly define high level requirements and criteria to be used in the evaluation of channel-coding techniques.
Ability to generate clear and organized technical submissions (presentations as well as contribution text documents) for standards-bodies.
Working understanding of the systems engineering and architecture concepts of advanced mobile cellular networks.
Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively represent the derived results and technical concepts developed in the course of the work.
IEEE 802 and 3GPP standards knowledge, experience desired

Within the base pay range, individual rates depend on a number of factors—including the role’s function and location as well as the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, education and training. This is part of our comprehensive compensation package with annual bonus eligibility and generous benefits to help you live life well.

$127,600—$175,250 USD
