Job Description:

Design antenna and antenna arrays for wireless communication systems, including base stations and user terminals. Design, simulate and characterize passive elements for PCB board level design and RFIC design. Research on various antenna design and come up with novel solutions for the new systems and file patents. Validate performance of antennas and RF boards using standard RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and VSA.  Simulate the design using electro-magnetic (EM) modeling software such as Ansys HFSS. Evaluate and optimize the antenna’s performance based on measurement results. Design, simulate and characterize passive elements for RFIC designers. Generate IPRs by filing commercial patents.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 3 years of post-baccalaureate experience in electro-magnetic hardware simulation tools including Ansys HFSS.
  • Experience must include phased-array antenna design, optimization, fabrication and verification; optimizing antenna performance; radio-frequency integrated circuit design; RF test equipment including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers; designing and optimizing high performance mmWave antenna and phased array antennas (>= 60 GHz) using Ansys HFSS; designing and optimizing RF circuit interface and matching circuits (>= 60 GHz) using Keysight ADS; and measuring and verifying antenna performance, and antenna array beam pattern using Keysight vector network analyzer (VNA).

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
