Job Summary/Overview:
HVAC Instrumentation Sr. Technician: The Journey Level Senior Technician is responsible for performing technical tasks in support of the operation and maintenance of utility systems, Fab support equipment, building maintenance or chemical and gas delivery equipment. Activities include review of construction, design, and specification documentation, the startup and operation of facilities, mechanical, chemical, waste and electrical systems. In addition, performs general maintenance and repair as required, and monitors for equipment efficiencies. Requires compliance with all health, safety and environmental management system guidelines.
Specific Job Duties:
o Normally receives minimal supervision unless a major incident occurs.
o Receives some direction from Master Technician/TRs/Supervisors to prioritize non-routine daily tasks and/or projects.
o Identifies new assignment/projects based on the need of the department.
o Must have expert understanding of equipment/processes.
o Should demonstrate a deep level adaptability and the ability to change priorities based on the business needs.
o May provide mentoring to other non-exempt personnel.
o May provide technical training to the department or organization.
o Has advanced understanding of SOPs.
o Works on advanced assignment that require a considerable amount of judgment and initiative.
o Completes tasks in innovative and effective ways.
o Performs Advanced Preventative/Corrective Maintenance: Develops new methods for corrective maintenance/repairs. Tasked with completing PM/CPM improvement projects.
o Identifies areas of business process improvement opportunities and provides input as to which improvement projects need to be pursued.
o Troubleshoots, down to root cause, highly complex issues that lower level technicians are unable to resolve.
o Decides which type of maintenance is needed, selects parts for replacement.
o Reviews and submits vendor invoices and payments.
o Mentors/trains lower level technicians.
o Understands interactions with other departments in activities such as scheduling.
o Leads pass down and other meetings.
o May participate on cross-functional teams.
o Serves as liaison between senior staff and other technicians – communicates and represents Samsung company initiatives.
o May conduct and/or oversee routine inspections and investigations.
o Interprets complex data from equipment, processes etc.
o Interprets issues/questions regarding schematics, diagrams, written/verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans.
o Applies knowledge of relevant best practices, state and local code in area of expertise.
o Regular attendance and timeliness is required per departmental guidelines.
o Has advanced knowledge of relevant software tools (i.e., Programmable Logic Controller, Microsoft etc.).
o Intermediate knowledge in relevant code regulations ability to work independently within the broad scope of an objective.
o May require the ability to maintain a state license as necessary (i.e., journeyman).
