We are looking for a vehicle systems guru with embedded software experience. We need someone excited about understanding vehicle ECUs and finding creative ways to integrate new vehicles — from semi-trucks to fully electric vehicles — into the Samsara system. You will develop a deep understanding of various vehicle bus standards while engineering a scalable way to collect vehicle diagnostic information into our cloud. You must be comfortable working independently while investigating different vehicle systems and tracking down viable vehicle data to create new diagnostic information. You will use Golang for our linux-based gateways and backend services, Google protocol buffers to structure data and various AWS technologies to process and store data.
A candidate should have the following experience / proficiencies:
Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
Proficient in at least one of the following languages
C/C++, Go, Python
Experience with vehicle systems
Comfortable with prototyping and debugging electronic systems
Networking / Protocol experience (TCP/IP, CAN)
Familiarity with linux
Nice to have:
CAN J1939, ISO 15765, J1708, J1578,
Vehicle diagnostic scan tool experience
Automotive Industry experience
