Samsara’s network of hardware devices deliver data to our IoT platform. Once the data has been processed, users can access detailed information about their commercial fleets and industrial centers through our web application. Our customers use this data, which includes real-time GPS fixes, aggregated reports over weeks of data, and alerts for disallowed driver and vehicle behavior, to understand and optimize their operations.
As a software engineer focusing on full-stack infrastructure at Samsara, you will design and develop the infrastructure that powers Samsara’s IoT platform. Product infrastructure engineers help our product teams work fast. We are focused on how to improve the design patterns, APIs, and tooling used in Samsara’s products.
We use TypeScript, React, PostCSS, and GraphQL, and Go in our applications. Direct experience with these technologies is not required. We are interested in candidates who would like to focus on frontend, backend, or both.
You might work on:
Building new UI components for tables layouts, graphing, and mapping
Setting the standard for our offline-first mobile application state storage and synchronization system
Instrumenting page load times in our single page application
Optimizing our map views to display thousands of vehicles, labels, and addresses
Building the platform for generating our external REST API from our GraphQL services
An ideal candidate might:
Be comfortable working on large web application codebases with many participating contributors
