Samsara is looking for a Director, HR Operations to lead our global HR infrastructure team (HRIS Manager, Global Ops Mgr, HR specialist, and 3 coordinators). 

The People Team is instrumental in scaling Samsara’s culture through our hypergrowth.  The HR infrastructure (HR Ops) team is building the processes and systems for growth from 1500+ and beyond.  The team will support launching employment in new countries, optimizing processes (transfers, compensation letters, etc) in WorkDay, and ensure that employee personal “moments that matter” are flawlessly executed.  

This is a full time position at our office in Potrero Hill, and includes Lyft/Uber commuter benefits, stock options, 401(k) match, medical, dental, vision benefits.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Scale Our Culture:  Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Obsess Over the Customer, Build for the Long Term, Challenge Yourself) as we scale globally and across new offices

  • Team Growth and Development:  Hire, develop, and lead a high performing global HR Operations Team 

  • Data Integrity:  Ensure our processes for all data (new hires, transfers, cost centers) are consistently accurate and iterate for continued automation to support our business metrics

  • Launching New Markets:  Lead the team in launching new office locations for employment, mobility, and ongoing employee experience.

  • Build out our HR infrastructure:  Work with our stakeholders (managers, people partners) to build out processes within WorkDay for self-service.  Review our current ticket system (benefits, leaves, general questions, etc) to ensure timely responses to our employees. 

  • Customer Service Orientation:  Enable continued great customer service for employees as we scale.   

 

An ideal candidate has:

  • 10+ years experience in People Operations; preferably in fast growing companies

  • Outstanding people leadership skills in hiring and developing talent

  • Ability to build credibility at all levels of the organization

  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities and judgment; ability to make sound decisions independently; solutions-oriented

  • Strong analytical and project management skills, proven ability to design and communicate clear processes, and a detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem solving

  • Impeccable discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information

  • Strong bias for action and not afraid to “roll up your sleeves”
