Role Overview

We are seeking an Account Director with shopper/omni-channel marketing experience who is passionate about developing campaigns aimed at driving conversion across the consumer journey. The Account Director will lead the development of small to large omni-channel campaigns and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams. This role involves overseeing the portfolio, growing the business, and ensuring programs are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic brand objectives.


Core Responsibilities

Client Relations

  • Develop, nurture, and enhance client relationships.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the client’s business strategy, objectives, and brands.
  • Provide strategic direction for the brand/company as required.
  • Lead the development of integrated omni-channel campaigns, including IMC/agency partner management.
  • Identify organic opportunities for business growth within the client’s business and implement plans for incremental programs and services.

Team Leadership

  • Brief and set objectives for specialty teams (e.g., Creative, Design, Media, Studio, Creator).
  • Foster collaborative working relationships and efficient workflows within specialty and IMC teams.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to assess new hiring requirements.
  • Manage the hiring process with HR, including onboarding, training, and developing a strong account management team.
  • Mentor and develop direct reports to provide best-in-class account and production management.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support personal and professional goal-setting for team members.

Financial Management

  • Oversee portfolio P&L, collaborating with finance to maintain business profitability.
  • Build and reconcile small and large program budgets to drive business profitability.
  • Train the account team on budget management.
  • Ensure all programs within the portfolio are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Identify revenue and profit gaps and create implementation plans to address them.

Business Operations

  • Identify new areas for business growth within the omni/shopper team or across additional Salt services.
  • Monitor program success, providing optimization options and areas for improvement post-program.
  • Manage external stakeholders, including suppliers, partners, clients, agencies, and contractors.
  • Lead new or ongoing business initiatives to support growth and development for Salt XC.

Experience & Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years in Accounts, Client Service, Project Management, or related roles, with a strong background in Shopper Marketing/Omni Channel marketing.
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian retail landscape and agency support processes.
  • Experience managing cross-functional client teams (shopper/trade marketing, sales, and brand teams).
  • Familiarity with online and offline disciplines impacting omni-channel programming.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven project management experience.
  • Understanding of agency budgeting and reporting requirements.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities.
  • Ability to provide clear, actionable feedback to guide internal teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to oversee and deliver against a large P&L.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue business growth opportunities.
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, and guiding teams to achieve successful results.
