Your Mission

 

The Manager of Technical Accounting at SADA, an Insight Company, is responsible for assessing highly judgmental and complex technical accounting issues.  SADA’s cloud services require technical accounting identification, research, analysis, and documentation, particularly with regard to Revenue Recognition and impairment reserves.  The Manager of Technical Accounting is responsible for monthly and quarterly SEC Reporting deliverables and evidence of SOX 404 internal controls.  

 

The Manager of Technical Accounting is a key leader in SADA’s Finance transformation to public-company standards and reports to the SADA VP, Global Controller.  Success of the role and the Finance department is measured by timeliness, accuracy and scalability.  

Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess, and document technical accounting issues and SADA’s accounting position
  • Create and update SADA’s accounting policies as necessary and ensure proper application of the policies
  • Work closely with cross-functional teammates in Finance, Business Systems, Legal and Corporate Accounting to ensure accounting policies are sufficiently aligned and adopted.  Complete training, communicate regularly, and provide oversight to reinforce changes to the accounting and related business process
  • Design, perform or provide oversight to SOX 404 internal controls for complex accounting arrangements
  • Assess technical accounting implications in both standard and nonstandard contracts 
  • Analyze system reports and financial data to assess the integrity of key financial reports
  • Present Financial Statement analyses and accounting positions to varying stakeholders inclusive of the SADA Controller, SADA CFO, Corporate Accounting, auditors and Finance teammates 
  • Complete and review subsidiary level SEC Reporting deliverables related to the 10Q and 10K, inclusive of the Financial Statement consolidation, flux explanations, financial metrics, disclosure tables and account reconciliation reviews
  • Complete and review Audit deliverables pertaining to the US GAAP Annual Audit, US GAAP Quarterly reviews, and local statutory audits
  • Make recommendations for improvement with respect to the timeliness and accuracy of financial information
  • Advise on technical accounting implications for strategic initiatives 
  • Remain current on accounting principles, industry trends, NSIT analyst perspectives, and professional certifications

Expectations

Training – Onboarding will be conducted remotely on a 90-day onboarding schedule

Career development – The candidate will have a career development plan and adopts both self-paced and on-the-job training into the annual objectives

Required Credentials:

  • Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Audit experience, preferably from a Big 4 Public Accounting Firm 
  • Experience in applying US GAAP accounting principles to complex accounting arrangements
  • Demonstrated experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
  • Interfacing and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across an organization (e.g. staff, executive leadership, and auditors) 

Demonstrated experience in managing cross-functional and long-term projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SEC Reporting
  • Experience in applying US GAAP accounting principles to complex accounting arrangements
  • Demonstrated experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
  • Experience with  SaaS and software resale arrangements
  • Experience with NetSuite
