As a Salesforce Platform Manager, you will own the integrity and strength of the Salesforce platform and other solutions as required. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to our team and clients, and an effective mentor for other professionals working alongside you. You will have a deep understanding of the Salesforce platform but just as importantly, top-notch people skills to get your ideas and solutions across to stakeholders and gain integrity to get your visions built into successful solutions. The Salesforce Platform Manager is the face of the Salesforce platform to the business, responsible for the overall management of the platform. They are responsible for leading project initiatives, gathering requirements, designing solutions, and implementing configurations on the Salesforce instance. They develop methodology and best practices for relevant teams, and drive platform adoption of all users. They manage the Salesforce roadmap and all platform initiatives. They will be involved in growth strategy discussions alongside relevant stakeholders.

This is a varied delivery leadership role, with the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct research into use of Salesforce, producing a report of findings with recommended steps and a roadmap for Salesforce solutions
  • Collaborate with relevant operational teams to create prototypes and proofs of concept as a means of eliciting and defining requirements
  • Review solutions and recommending improvements
  • Groom and refine the Salesforce product backlog, in liaison with stakeholders on the project
  • Own the design of Salesforce and other affiliated solutions for all relevant teams
  • Act as a release manager, approving configuration, and coded items to be deployed between environments. Where appropriate, this could include deploying changes
  • Provide guidance on user story writing style
  • Ensure success and acceptance criteria are defined for each story
  • Describe and illustrate designs with appropriate justifications
  • Ensure documentation of the steps for testing
  • Groom and refine the Salesforce product backlog, in liaison with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervise the configuration, quality assurance, testing, and deployment of Salesforce
  • Weigh duties as appropriate to reflect importance and/or time expended on each
  • Partner with Operations leaders to determine Salesforce needs and opportunities
  • Act as Project Manager for all enhancement and maintenance projects related to Salesforce
  • Develop and maintain a backlog of enhancements and fixes
  • Manage consulting/development partners
  • Communicate and report project status to Operations leadership and IT management, including budget, risks, and general business issues
  • Responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of our database
  • Maintain and optimize Workflows, Process Builders, Flows, custom settings, page layouts, Lightning pages etc.
  • Own the user adoption of the Salesforce platform
  • Develop and deliver training for teams as necessary
  • Maintain adoption dashboards and data-quality dashboards, reviewing regularly for indication of adoption improvement needs
  • Respond to requests for immediate issues. Troubleshoot issues and identify related solution or user training requirements
  • Stay updated on the platform’s new tools, capabilities, and updates
  • Manage any system code/configuration changes required related to Salesforce releases
  • Assist with special projects as directed by leadership

Required Skills:

  • Minimum Salesforce certified:
    • Administrator
    • Sales Cloud Consultant
    • Service Cloud Consultant
    • Platform App Builder
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Pardot and other CRM technology solutions
  • Experience leading discovery workshops, including solution presentations and prototype demonstrations
  • Certified Salesforce Administrator or Developer
  • Ability to work well with people including project stakeholders and project team members
  • Proactive desire to continue to broaden and deepen business and consulting skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Capable of managing a variety of complex issues while driving momentum of key projects
  • Strategic mindset and exceptional communication skills
  • A pro-active personality, with a can-do attitude
