The Role

As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specializing in Parkinson's disease, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and clinical application. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and academic institutions to educate them about the benefits of utilizing our Parkinson's app and wearable device in delivering value-based care. By fostering collaborative relationships and providing scientific expertise, you will contribute to improving the quality of life for Parkinson's patients while reducing healthcare costs through innovative technology solutions while aiding healthcare providers in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. 

This will be a 3 day a week role with days being flexible especially if still working in a clinic seeing patients the other days in the week.

Compensation Range
  • United States: $70,000 - $85,000
  • This part time role offers unlimited PTO. Please note that health, vision and dental benefits aren't provided.

Core Responsibilities

  • Clinical Expertise:
    • Develop a deep understanding of our digital health platform's capabilities and its applications in Parkinson's Disease management.
    • Stay current with the latest scientific and clinical developments in Parkinson's Disease and related fields.
    • Develop and maintain in-depth scientific knowledge of Parkinson's disease, including its pathophysiology, current treatment landscape, emerging therapies, and unmet clinical needs.
  •  Medical Education and Communication:
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, researchers, and key opinion leaders, to provide accurate and up-to-date information about our digital health products.
    • Conduct educational sessions, presentations, and training programs to enhance understanding and utilization of our platform.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medical affairs, marketing, sales, and research and development, to ensure alignment of scientific messaging and educational materials. 
  • Clinical Insights and Feedback:
    • Gather valuable insights from healthcare professionals, patients, and clinical trials, providing feedback to internal teams for product improvement and innovation. Share real-world clinical experiences and data with cross-functional teams to inform product development. Provide scientific and clinical support to internal teams.
    • Provide training and support to healthcare professionals on the proper use of the Parkinson's app and wearable device, including interpretation of data generated by the technology.
  • Collaboration and Networking:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with healthcare professionals, academic institutions, medical societies, and patient advocacy groups.
    • Identify opportunities for collaboration and research partnerships to advance Parkinson's Disease treatment.
    • Stay abreast of regulatory guidelines, healthcare policies, and market trends relevant to digital health solutions for Parkinson's disease, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and ethical standards.
    • Collect and analyze feedback from healthcare professionals and patients to identify opportunities for product improvement and inform future development efforts.
    • Contribute to the generation of scientific publications, presentations, and abstracts to enhance the visibility and credibility of our Parkinson's app and wearable device within the medical community.
    • Represent the company at medical conferences, congresses, and other scientific forums, networking with key stakeholders and advocating for the adoption of our technology-driven approach to Parkinson's care.
  •  KOL Engagement:
    • Identify and engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the field of Parkinson's Disease, building strategic relationships to support our platform's adoption and credibility.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., neuroscience, pharmacology, biomedical engineering).
  • Previous experience as a medical science liaison or similar role within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industry, preferably with expertise in neurology or movement disorders.
  • In-depth knowledge of Parkinson's Disease, its pathophysiology, treatment modalities, and the role of digital health solutions in its management.
  • At least 2 years of treating movement disorder patients in a clinical setting.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • A passion for making a meaningful impact on patient care through innovative healthcare technologies.
  • Familiarity with digital health technologies, mobile applications, and wearable devices is desirable.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time for conferences or other work related events.

Practical Stuff

  • You must reside and be authorized to work in the U.S. 
  • We are a fully remote team. We ask everyone to be available in general for collective team meeting hours from 10-3 Pacific (1-6 Eastern) during working hours. If you’re in San Francisco, our pet-friendly office is just a block from Golden Gate Park.
