We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Manager of Financial Operations - Business Services to oversee and manage a variety of critical business functions within the financial operations department. This role will play a key part in the company's success by leading efforts in receivables management, cloud billing and reporting, revenue assurance, fraud prevention, banking, expense management, and operationalizing new initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of finance, attention to detail, and the ability to streamline operations across multiple areas of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations which include and not limited to working with banks/merchant services, managing the enforcement of credit procedures, accuracy and timeliness of customer billings and collections for our various business lines.
- Responsible for developing and executing new business solutions and improvement of processes as the business grows/evolves
- Responsible for working with development teams on execution of financial operational and reporting requirements from the accounting team for new/evolving business initiatives
- Responsible for overseeing expense management process to ensure employees comply with company policy and rules within expense portals
- Responsible for tracking and calculating for referral program
- Responsible for reviewing, understanding and execution of contractual guidelines related to finance/accounting
- Ability to multitask and work quickly while being able to adapt to a rapidly evolving environment
- Assess and/or develop ways of measuring the business performance
- Work with the Controller’s group with involvement in the financial close process
- Manage, mentor, guide and oversee team members ensuring all tasks and expectations are being met
- Has a uncanny ability to get things done with a sense of urgency
- Perform Ad hoc analysis and other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in financial operations, accounting, or a related field, preferably within a SaaS, tech, or digital platform environment.
- Accounting designation CPA, CA, CMA, CGA will be an asset
- Strong understanding of credit and collections processes, cloud billing, and revenue assurance.
- Experience with fraud prevention, chargebacks, and refund validation.
- Expertise in expense management tools, preferably RAMP, or similar platforms.
- Proven track record of optimizing operational processes and maintaining financial systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with merchant services and their respective reports (Fortis/Apple/Google/Stripe).
- Familiarity with fraud prevention best practices and tools.
- Knowledge of banking reconciliation and cash management processes.
- Experience managing referral programs or incentive-based tracking.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Odoo, etc.).
Annual Compensation Range: $101,000-$125,000 CAD base + benefits + equity
