ON CALL EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHER
Position Goal: The On-Call Editorial Photographer will create editorial imagery for Rue La La and Gilt, working closely with art directors and stylists. Content photographed includes, but is not limited to, event boutiques featuring luxury fashion accessories, footwear, jewelry, beauty and home goods. This position is 1-3 days a week and is a great opportunity to collaborate with a wonderful group of creative people, producingeditorial photography in a studio environment. Workflow management, organization and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment are key to this role. The ideal candidate should have a passion for photography and a desire to join a team-oriented environment.
Position Requirements:
Essential Duties:
Light and shoot digital product photography of styled products or models
Photograph products in studio: focusing primarily on editorial product photography and home photography, as well as the potential for on model editorial photography and location work
Capture the functionality, features, benefits, and uniqueness of individual products
Consistently produce digital images that are within established standards, which can quickly be edited and made web-ready
Work with stylist to ensure the product is styled efficiently and correctly
Collaborate with art directors to ensure Rue La La & Gilt site directive
Ensure a high level of consistent technical quality and aesthetics for all photography created and distributed by the studio
Maintain the workflow that insures completing the daily production requirements
Follow procedures for naming, saving, archiving and transmitting photo files
Other Job Requirements:
Degree in digital photography preferred
2+ years of digital studio experience or equivalent
Provide portfolio of original work
CaptureOne skills required
Knowledgeable with Canon photography equipment
Expertise in grip and electric
Expertise with multiple lighting disciplines, such as studio flash, location and remote lighting techniques, daylight control and continuous lighting is required
Proficient in Photoshop and Color Management Techniques
Proven ability to light sets consistent with established creative standards
Must be self-starter, with a strong sense of teamwork in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-driven environment
