About the the Role:

We’re looking to expand our sales team by hiring an analytical Account Executive who is comfortable selling a technical solution to developers/engineers. 

We’re an early stage company so the AE needs to be scrappy and comfortable with ambiguity. This also means you will have a massive impact on the trajectory of the company. We need people who can not only close deals but can also help us build and scale our revenue engine.

The market for software in the data vertical is super early and this is a great chance to get in early (read: meaningful equity) at a rapidly growing startup.

*Our roles are remote first, and can be based anywhere in the US (#LI-Remote). We offer competitive compensation / OTE.

What you'll do:

  • Generating, managing and forecasting an end-to-end sales pipelines
  • Present the value of RudderStack software to senior executives mainly across technical functions (engineering, data, analytics) 
  • Develop expansion opportunities from our existing customer base and land new target accounts
  • Proactively source new leads and new business opportunities, with the support of an SDR and the marketing function
  • Leverage and coordinate cross-functional internal teams (Sales Development, Legal, Engineering, Security, Marketing, Product) to efficiently navigate complex sales cycles
  • Regularly communicate traction, friction, and feedback from the field to drive customer engagements forward
  • Ensure 100% customer satisfaction with all prospective customers
  • Be a change agent within RudderStack - help define new models and processes to grow our business as a holistic team player

Examples of desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a software sales closing position
  • Experience in the data/infrastructure industry
  • Proven track record generating outbound revenue 
  • Experience closing annual contracts 
  • An analytical mindset 
  • A strong track record of over performing 
  • High curiosity and grit 
  • Ability to thrive in a constantly evolving work environment
  • A positive attitude
  • Experience in the Customer Data Platform or ELT space is a huge plus but not required
