RTI is looking for a Technical Product Manager to help define, build and launch innovative products that connect and enable a diverse rich set of applications, such as autonomous cars and teleoperations on the ground and in the sky, next generation digital energy platforms, secure aviation systems and large scale patient monitoring systems. This person will be a part of the Product Management team to help define RTI product vision and strategy, and deliver on those to delight our customers and grow our business.

  • Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to define and communicate a product vision, strategy and roadmap of deliverables for various stakeholders.
  • Own initiatives to build, launch, improve and scale software products, including security products.
  • Understand and analyze technical industry trends, user needs and market opportunities.
  • Identify and prioritize requirements for various aspects of product lines.
  • Role is based in Sunnyvale, California (RTI headquarters).


  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, or similar technical field of study (e.g., engineering, mathematics, information technology), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ combined years of experience in product management, software development, technical program management or technical project management in systems software, networking, distributed systems or embedded systems.
  • Understanding of software security solutions for network communications and distributed systems, such as cybersecurity, cryptography, encryption, or authentication techniques.
  • Familiarity with product management functions, including writing requirements, prototype development, market research, competitive analysis, and product planning.
  • Software development experience through coding in a general purpose programming language. Experience in coding in one of the following programming languages including but not limited to: C, C++, Java, JavaScript and/or Python.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, organizational, verbal, written and presentation communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts.
  • Interest in creating and analyzing products and customer use cases.
  • Experience working with software teams and interfacing with customers.
  • MBA or graduate level business coursework completed.
