We seek a talented and motivated DevSecOps Engineer to join a Research and Development project team with our Federal Partner. This role aims to develop innovative space ground services and products as applications for common satellite ground strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain Solutions: Engineer secure and efficient solutions using DevSecOps practices, focusing on continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines with Jenkins.
  • Kubernetes Management: Implement and manage Kubernetes containers to enhance application scalability and reliability.
  • Agile Collaboration: Work within Agile development teams, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
  • Project Management: Utilize the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for project management and collaboration.
  • Validation and Testing: Conduct regression testing to maintain program baselines and ensure system integrity.
  • System Integration: Perform systems integration and ensure seamless operation of products on the Olympus platform.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop automation scripts using Python or other scripting languages for efficient operations.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure all solutions adhere to industry standards for security and compliance.
  • Problem Solving: Explain difficult technical problems you've faced and how you resolved them.
  • Team Integration: Share your approach to joining and integrating into new teams, especially when documentation is sparse.
  • Technical Tools: Discuss your experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm Charts, and Rancher.

 Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years in software development, with a focus on DevSecOps practices and Kubernetes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in C++ development in both Windows and Linux environments, and experience with Jenkins for CI/CD.
  • Agile Methodologies: Strong background in Agile development.
  • Collaboration Tools: Proficiency with the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM field with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Containerization Skills: Deep understanding of Docker, including creating Docker files, defining access control, building images, managing registries, and troubleshooting connectivity errors.
  • Kubernetes Expertise: Experience in managing Kubernetes clusters, using tools like Rancher, and understanding services in Kubernetes.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform and other configuration management tools.
  • Load Balancing and Cloud Services: Familiarity with application load balancers and experience using EKS for setting up and configuring clusters.

 Nice to Haves

  • Satellite Systems: Experience in Satellite Command/Control, Mission Administration, or Planning.
  • Advanced Methods: Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps development methods.
  • Unix/Linux: Proficiency in Unix/Linux command line operations.
  • Scripting: Competency in Python or other scripting languages.
  • Requirements Management: Experience with requirements management tools like DOORS.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience in guiding engineering teams.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Work: Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary environment.
