Position Summary

The SVP-Capital Markets manages the Capital Markets operations supporting Secondary Marketing activities for the company, supporting both retail and MSR acquisition when necessary. This role will involve management of pricing, the mortgage pipeline, best execution analysis, hedging, trading, loan delivery, MSR acquisition, and reporting. The SVP-Capital Markets will have direct reports from the Secondary Marketing Division.

The SVP-Capital Markets reports to the CEO and Functional Reporting to Heads of Capital Markets at Freedom and must foster working relationships with other executives, direct reports, key stakeholders, vendors, investors, co-workers, and customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manages the activities and operations of Capital Markets team.
  • Performs mortgage pipeline risk management activities to mitigate interest rate risk, including hedging with forward MBS trades and best effort commitments.
  • Sets daily rate sheet pricing and monitors competitive pricing landscape.
  • Responsible for best execution analysis that will optimize loan sale proceeds via whole loan, cash window or MBS pool delivery.
  • Oversight of the lock desk team and related activities.
  • Maintains the risk management and analytical framework (CompassPoint Analytics).
  • Manages existing investor relationships and responsible for sourcing and building new investor relationships.
  • Responsible for coaching, influencing and developing team members.
  • Implements strong controls and standards for all internal and external processes.
  • Ensures that unit meets government regulations by interpreting and executing all new regulatory and investor requirements,
  • Oversees and assists with internal and other audits of the functional area, including working closely with regulators, investors and attorneys.
  • Incumbent will be responsible for meeting RoundPoint’s commitment to compliance.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or Mathematics.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Capital Markets.
  • Flexible, action and results oriented, self-starting, and have strong analytical skills.
  • Proven track record in analyzing and compiling data from multiple sources.
  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite package including an expert knowledge of Excel.
  • High Proficiency in Excel & experience in SQL.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external customers, peers, and management.
  • Strong Knowledge of Capital Markets & Bond Math.

Desired:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience with CompassPoint Analytics strongly preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Encompass and Optimal Blue is a plus.
  • Previous experience in Data Reporting a plus but not required.
