About the Team:

The Merchandising and Planning team is always on top of the latest  trends—using data, research, exceptional taste and expert analytical skills to ensure we’ve got the right product in the right places at the right time. They work closely with partners in Production, Ecommerce and Inventory Planning to forecast, plan and manage our inventory—ensuring we delight our customers with products they love. 

We’re looking for an experienced Account Executive for our Wholesale Team to develop and implement our brand new Rothy’s wholesale strategy to drive profitable sales growth. You will work closely with a broad range of internal cross functional partners including merchandising, marketing, planning and operations to support our strategy in bringing the Rothy’s brand to new consumers, as well as external partners and buyers from the wholesale space. You will be responsible for helping to develop, communicate and implement the merchandise strategy and driving financial results.  You are deeply analytical, love people and relationships, and understand consumer trends and behavior and how they inform business strategies.  This role will temporarily report to the Chief Product and Merchandising Officer, and then will report to Director, Wholesale upon return from LOA. This department is in its early stages of development within the company, so the possibility of full-time opportunities will be contingent upon the evolving business needs.

What you’ll do:

  • Support assortment strategy in wholesale revenue growth by influencing decisions at every stage of the product life cycle
  • Prepare and manage all wholesale docs and reports, including maintaining accurate costing, pricing, margins and all product detailed info needed by our wholesale buyers 
  • Maintain all current wholesale account relationships, staying in constant contact with key players from each account and providing account services to these teams 
  • Become key point person for new accounts still in discussion, offering showroom appointments and follow up
  • Communicate with SF HQ on account status for each current account with all updates so HQ team can forecast accurately for inventory needs and sales projections 
  • Support all operations needs and communication in support of the wholesale channel, including working with PR team based in NY office on showroom and sample needs
  • Work with merchandise planning to hold or purchase inventory needed to support wholesale accounts
  • Act as wholesale category expert on in-season selling analysis, to report out to SF HQ team weekly, and to inform swaps for more productive inventory for accounts if they have slow product or need more inventory of best sellers 
  • Understand importance of profitability and decisions that impact profitability, from terms to discounts, to returns, to shipping and refurbishment costs. Be a savvy negotiator and communicator in order to yield best possible terms, and most profitable constructs for Rothy’s

You have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of merchandising or buying experience, with experience in footwear and wholesale a definite plus
  • Comfort and proficiency in using analytical tools and reporting to inform buys and forecasting processes with merchandise planning 
  • A natural curiosity and a proactive approach with a high level of ownership and responsibility for your work
  • A love for tackling problems and using your analytical skills to find solutions
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and relishes working collaboratively with cross-functional groups internally and externally, but can also be self-starter from our NY office, not located directly with cross-functional team 
  • Competency in juggling many tasks both mental and physical, including appointment details like scheduling, ordering coffee/snacks, arranging showroom samples into presentation format, keeping NY office organized and tidy for constant appointments

Pay range:

$82,000 - $96,000 annually

Base pay is one part of the total rewards package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.  This role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
