Job title: Communications Assistant

Reports to: Communications Manager

Contract: Permanent

Flexible working: Two days per week of working from home flexibility

 

The team and the purpose of the role:

The Communications team at Rothesay is a team of six covering PR and Government Affairs, external and internal communications and events as well as supporting sponsorship and The Rothesay Foundation.

This is role is primarily to support the planning and delivery of internal communications and employee engagement activity.

 

Primary responsibilities:

Supporting internal communication activities such as:

  • Maintaining the intranet and ensuring content is up-to-date
  • Coordinating and drafting all staff communications
  • Coordinating and drafting the monthly newsletter
  • Managing corporate photography
  • Working with third party design agencies e.g. briefing and managing jobs 
  • Ad-hoc support with website updates and event communications

 

Skills & Experience:

You will have some experience in communications or financial services and:

  • be educated to degree level of equivalent
  • an excellent communicator
  • have good attention to detail
  • be confident dealing with peers at all levels
  • able to work within deadlines
  • be a team player

 

Competencies:

  • Technical Skills – be able to use programmes such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Drive and Motivation – be motivated to learn and develop skills and embrace new projects and initiatives 
  • Client and Business Focus – be able to work with stakeholders across the business 
  • Teamwork – have a collaborative and can-do attitude 
  • Judgement and Problem solving – take responsibility for work and seek advice and guidance when needed
