About Rondo Energy 

Rondo Energy's mission is to eliminate 15% of global CO2 emissions in 15 years. 

To accomplish this mission, Rondo is deploying low-cost, zero-carbon Rondo Heat Batteries to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy and to significantly decarbonize industrial processes that are commonly thought of as "difficult-to-decarbonize". Our Heat Batteries charge from intermittent renewables to provide high temperature, continuous heat for customers safely, reliably, at an unprecedented 98% efficiency - and at a cost point that is lower than any other method. 

We are looking for a strong change leader and collaborator to take on the position of developing a global Project Delivery organization. The business is growing at a rapid pace and the key to success in Rondo Energy’s operating environment is a leader who has led within hyper-growth operating environments and understands what must be done to scale the business.  

The Project Delivery organizations will lead the project from inception of the confirmed project award to delivery of the Product on the customer’s site. The organization will consist of Project Management, Field Assembly & Construction, and Project Engineering. While this is a new role at Rondo, we expect this role to spend 40% building scalable processes, 40% implementing and executing our vision, and 20% creating new ideas.

Specific Deliverables by Category ((key responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to): 

Project Management:  

  • Set up robust project management processes to deliver the Rondo Heat Battery projects on time and on budget
  • Lead complex projects involving innovative technology with multi-disciplinary & multi-vendor engagements
  • Hire and train a world-class project management team with construction experience
  • Lead detailed Project budget management for each project
  • Continuous improvement feedback to the engineering organization to make the construction of the Rondo Heat Battery more efficient, faster, and cheaper
  • Project management from inception to delivery of finished working installation on customer site

Project Engineering  

  • Lead Project Engineering team that is responsible for all Balance of Plant work for each individual projects
  • Collaborate with the Product Engineering team to improve current products as well as implement new solutions/products
  • Multi-discipline team including construction engineers (structural etc), electrical and mechanical engineering
  • Drive creativity in constantly improving delivery/eng processes for greater predictability in cost & schedule goals  

Field Assembly & Construction  

  • In the first phase, lead an in-house field assembly & construction team that will oversee assembly and construction in the field
  • Create and document assembly and construction handbook for all aspects of the Rondo Heat Battery construction
  • Design and improve on tools, fixtures, and assembly/construction methodologies for field work
  • For the longer term start establishing global EPC partners for Field Assembly work globally with priority in Northern Europe, Germany, and Australia

 

What You Will Bring: 

  • 10+ years experience in senior level Project Management, Operations, and/or Construction management roles (GM/VP of Operations)  
  • Ability to scale up an organization while effectively building staff capacity  
  • Self-motivated/directed—enjoys working hard and looking for challenges; able to act and react, as necessary, even if limited information is available; not hesitant to lead through difficult situations; can take unpopular stands when necessary while thriving via collaboration
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process management skills
  • Participative and hands-on management type. Expert business acumen and analytical skills
  • A love for building, executing, and handling multiple priorities at once
  • Excellent judgment with the ability to make decisions quickly in an organized, and detailed manner
  • A curious mind with a love of continual learning, collaborating, and working independently 
  • Desire to work in a fast and dynamic, people-first environment 
  • Highly desirable to have experience in the renewable energy field such as solar/wind/storage projects 
  • Ideal candidate has experience working in both large established companies as well as new startups 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred - equivalent work experience considered

It's preferred that this role would be based out of Alameda CA, or Houston TX. The estimated annual salary range for this role is $250,000 - $375,000 + generous bonus +  equity + the excellent benefits listed above. Please note that some pay bands may have wide ranges of compensation to accommodate candidates' diverse sets of skill levels and experience.
