Position Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support the U.S. payroll operations for Roivant and its subsidiaries. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing multistate payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. An ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of payroll practices, including tax withholding, state allocations, compliance, benefits, and equity reporting. The role requires someone who is highly organized, driven, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment, while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process semi-monthly payrolls for all U.S. employees, ensuring timely disbursements and accurate calculations.
  • Process off-cycle payrolls as needed.
  • Audit payroll records to source data, ensuring all employee changes are correctly reflected in the payroll software.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reconciliations, including W-2s and 941s. 
  • Track new hires, terminations, and transfers within the Roivant portfolio.
  • Oversee multistate withholding calculations for travel and work locations.
  • Assist with Board of Director payments.
  • Support SOX compliance by adhering to all key controls. 
  • Provide support and guidance to employees on all payroll-related questions.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. 
  • Special projects as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing, including hands-on experience with payroll software (ADP Workforce Now). 
  • BA/BS degree in related field.
  • Experience with multistate payroll processing.
  • Knowledge of general human resources procedures and regulations related to payroll and benefits. 
  • Experience with benefits administration is a plus.  
  • Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of dealing with complex problems and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner.
  • Highly innovative problem solver who demonstrates the ability to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Base salary for this role will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market conditions.  The expected base salary for the role will generally be between $80,000 - $100,000 per year at the commencement of employment, but the final salary offered may be outside this range based on individual circumstances and business and market conditions. 

Base salary if hired is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include other components such as discretionary bonuses, equity, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and Roivant reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance and business and market conditions.
