About the Role

Rocket Travel  is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Front-end or Full-stack Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. This is a full-time, long-term contract position. As a key contributor, you will be part of a dynamic group working across the full software development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and efficient backend solutions.

As a Senior Software Engineer at Rocket Travel, you will: 

  • Actively participate in all facets of the software development process, from inception through deployment.
  • Architect, design, develop, and maintain advanced software systems, focusing on full-stack development from React-based front-end applications to backend solutions in Kotlin and Scala.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our architecture, promoting code modularity, testability, and resilience.
  • Enhance customer experience through A/B testing and user-centric development.
  • Engage in daily deployments to high-availability applications, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and departments to achieve organizational goals.
  • Provide technical mentorship within the team, promoting learning and innovation
  • Take ownership of the full product lifecycle, maintaining a balance between business needs and technological choices.

 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in full-stack development, with significant expertise in React for front-end design and development.
  • Advanced-level proficiency with JVM languages, with at least 4 years of Kotlin experience and a solid background in Scala.
  • Experience leading projects and/or teams with a track record of successful delivery.
  • Proficient in deploying applications on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and working with DevOps applications (GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Strong grasp of data processing systems (OLTP, OLAP)
  • In-depth understanding of agile methodologies
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
