WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
At Rocket Lab, traceability and inspection are paramount to our quality and tracking processes. This role is within our team of Quality Control Inspectors. You will be responsible for ensuring all purchased materials conforms to our high quality standards through technical inspections, documentation is filed and stored correctly, parts are supplied to flight stores and production on time. Training will be provided however you should be comfortable with engineering drawings, understanding inspection reports, administrative tasks, ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, be well organised, have sharp time management skills and a high level of attention to detail. Day to day you'll:
- Inspect mechanical and electromechanical parts/assemblies to ensure compliance with Rocket Lab quality standards.
- Input manufacturer serial/batch/lot numbers into ERP system for traceability and record-keeping.
- Review inspection reports to verify adherence to Rocket Lab requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Initiate non-conformance tickets and communicate with relevant teams.
- Issue quality notifications to suppliers.
- Operate part marking equipment for traceability purposes.
- Adhere to health and safety policies and standard operating procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE in designated areas.
- Promptly report near misses and incidents.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Week 1: 4 days on, 3 days off (1pm- 1am)
Week 2: 3 days on, 4 days off (1pm - 1am)

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Over 2 years inspecting mechanical/electromechanical parts, skilled in vernier calipers, micrometers, and various gauges.
- 3+ years programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) or non-contact measuring equipment.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in manufacturing settings.
- Quick to learn and operate new equipment safely.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
THESE SKILLS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Inspected electronic components and PCB/PCBA.
- Knowledgeable in ESD practices.
- Experience across aerospace, automotive, medical, or aviation industries.
- Experience with CMM and non-contact measuring equipment.
- Experience in manufacturing, automotive, medical, aerospace or aviation industry.
- Willing and able to commit to altering shift times, between day and night.
