BUILDING ELECTRON AT ROCKET LAB:
Rocket Lab’s Electron team is responsible for building, testing, and launching our Electron rocket across our launch sites and test facilities in the United States and New Zealand. Electron is one of the world’s most frequently-launched rockets, and our team behind its success are diligent, move fast, and have each others’ back to deliver a reliable rocket to the launch pad time and time again.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO:
As a CNC Operator you will be responsible for all aspects of CNC machine set up, loading, and unloading raw materials, monitoring cutting conditions, inspecting finished parts, in process adjustments, and maintenance of CNC equipment as necessary for production. Working closely with the programming and planning team, your objective is to maximise daily productivity, machine utilisation and quality of finished parts.
Our machining facility operates the following repeating fortnightly pattern:
- Week 1: Four days on, three days off. 1pm - 1am
- Week 2: Three days on, four days off. 1pm - 1am
Multiple vacancies. Hourly range between $31.00 - $42.00 depending on experience. Evening shift allowance of 6.25% will also be included in total compensation package. Relocation assistance will be provided if required. Based in Warkworth, Auckland.
YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience with Fanuc, Siemens, or Mitsubishi CNC controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and record keeping.
- High level of workmanship
- Experience with GD&T, part measurement and gauging.
- Adheres to standardized processes.
- Ability to work independently and deliver against deadlines.
- Constantly maintains a clean, safe, and efficient work area.
- Excellent communication and ability to work in a team as well as autonomously.
- A high work ethic, always seeking more responsibility.
- Computer literate.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in 1 or more of the following disciplines of CNC:
- Programming
- Operation
- Milling/Turning on 3/5 axis machines
- Experience in composite and/or metal machining
