SUPPLY CHAIN 

Rocket Lab’s Supply Chain team is responsible for the flow of all materials, products, and components through the business. With many of our own products functioning as critical components to our own and our customers’ missions, the Supply Chain team has a direct impact on the success of our rocket and satellite programs. They set up the assembly kits that enables our technicians to put together our Electron rockets, manage inventory, look after shipping and receiving, manage direct and indirect procurement, and inspect and ensure that all of our materials and products are compliant and up to standard. They are the chain that links our teams together, and are critical to our success.

INVENTORY MANAGER

As an Inventory Manager you will be based at Rocket Lab’s site in Mt Wellington, you will be leading a team of hard-working and mission-focused inventory and logistic coordinators in supporting our internal teams to deliver for our upcoming missions for Electron and Neutron.

You’ll be responsible for setting the tone, driving productivity, and ensuring deadlines and targets are consistently met.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO: 

  • Lead a team responsible for inventory management, material handling, and shipping/receiving
  • Accountable for maintaining inventory controls, generating perpetual inventory reports, and ensuring timely delivery of materials to production
  • Implement systems and processes for bar-coding and bin location management
  • Manage inventory planning and kitting processes for efficient production line-side delivery
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts meeting Finance requirements
  • Establish and oversee shipping/receiving processes supporting Procure to Pay operations
  • Conduct Receiving Inspection to verify parts meet specifications domestically and internationally
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and standard operating procedures

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Proven leadership experience in Supply Chain, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Previous exposure to high-paced, rapid growth environments
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage inventory teams
  • Background in aerospace, automotive, or heavy manufacturing, preferred
  • Team-oriented and skilled at multitasking in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a talent for prioritisation
  • Proven track record in implementing efficient systems and tools for material management (5000- 6000 SKU’s)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Associate degree, Bachelor's Degree, or High school diploma with 5+ years of relevant experience
