About the Role

Our People team plays a critical role in finding and growing world-class talent to achieve our mission and we need your help!  As our Sr. HR Generalist you'll help make Robinhood an amazing place to grow and thrive, and provide our Robinhoodies (what we employees call ourselves) a seamless experience across all parts of the employee life cycle. You'll work with teams across Robinhood to implement systems, processes, and programs to help people succeed.

As the Sr. HR Generalist you'll:

  • Identify and implement fun team building and motivational activities to promote company culture
  • Enhance the Employee Experience by engaging with employees and leaders at critical moments in the life cycle of the employment relationship such as Development, Accommodations, Workplace Threats, Performance Management
  • Promote knowledge, understanding, and compliance with regard to employment basics, company policy and relevant employment laws through coaching, presentations, and training
  • Conduct timely, objective, and thorough internal investigations including but not limited to allegations harassment, discrimination, accommodation, and retaliation and prepare all required documentation
  • Function as an employee advocate by proactively implementing and sustaining relevant business solutions, tools, and resources to support and positively shape the employee experience
  • Help administer Robinhood benefits, including medical, dental, vision insurance, and retirement programs; maintain any additional staff records as needed
  • Ensure enrollment and compliance with federal and state programs (Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment Insurance, Family and Medical Leave Act and COBRA) and counsel employees applying for benefits under these programs
  • Alongside counsel and external consultants, ensure Robinhood’s compliance with other federal, state, and local labor regulations (wage regulations, equal employment opportunity laws, etc.)
  • Support strategic initiatives and projects within the HR department
  • Assist with and respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, leaves of absences, payroll and benefits issues

Some things we consider critical to being a Sr. HR Generalist: 

  • A clear, approachable, and friendly communication style with a customer service attitude
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant employee relations experience
  • Deep sense of empathy and ability to communicate across diverse groups
  • Strong persuasion and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to plan and implement initiatives at an operational level
  • Ability to analyze data, trends, and insights to identify the root cause of the event
  • Broad knowledge of employee relations, complex workplace investigations, federal and state laws / regulations (including but not limited to Title VII, ADA, ADAAA and FMLA)
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential situations with objectivity, candor, and confidence
  • Previous work experience with a multi-state employer
  • Strong analytical and project management skills, proven ability to design clear processes, and a very detail oriented yet flexible approach to problem solving
  • Technical curiosity and knowledge of evolving trends in HR products and services
