Road to Hire (R2H) is hiring a Corporate Relations Manager who will lean in as an account manager for R2H’s corporate partner companies. The Corporate Relations Manager should be motivated by the opportunity to develop and create opportunities for under-served youth and young adults in our community. A successful candidate for this role will be a self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills, who is excited to roll up their sleeves and engage in every element of our programs. This role involves building and maintaining deep relationships with our partner companies as well as our program participants of many different backgrounds and experiences, engaging volunteers and partners to wholeheartedly support students and supporting students’ professional development.

The Corporate Relations Manager will be a mission-driven individual with an acute eye for detail, a strong ability to take initiative, comfort interacting with students in groups and individually, and confidence in adeptly balancing many priorities. This person will engage and partner with senior leadership and functional leaders across the organization.

What You'll Do:

Partner Development and Relations - 80%

  • Help to refine and enhance the corporate-partner relationship management process
  • In partnership with the leadership team, creating and supporting the development and management process of our partner relations
  • Engage in strategy creation and execution, including community engagement approach and building out partner relationships
  • Provide organizational and logistical support to the Road to Hire team
  • Manage end-to-end program operations for one of Road to Hire’s key impact areas

Community Engagement - 20%

  • Serve as the organization’s face to the community, connecting with local corporate, nonprofit and government organizations in efforts that advance the mission
  • Represent Road to Hire at community events, organize and execute community engagement efforts

What We're Looking For:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following: partnership management, non-profit development, corporate philanthropy, community engagement
  • Passionate about and strongly aligned with Road to Hire’s core beliefs and educational philosophy
  • Exceptional communication skills, with a knack for using data and real-life narratives to compel action and support
  • Experience in managing, developing and coaching direct reports
  • Ability to lead and influence others to achieve business goals
  • Strong level of accountability and ability to communicate across functional teams to drive priorities, anticipate pitfalls, and raise issues before they become project blockers
  • Demonstrates entrepreneurial leadership and results in a corporate, nonprofit, or academic setting
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to quickly build trust with a wide variety of constituents
  • Desire to work hands-on in a performance-based, analytically-driven, and fast-paced environment while displaying confidence and a professional presence
  • Eager to challenge assumptions, build, test and learn

Compensation

  • Cash Compensation Range: $75,000-$95,000*
    *Note actual compensation is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.

  2. R2H High School program: Supports students at Charlotte’s Title I, low-income high schools. These students take Road to Hire classes for credit, learn technical and life skills and earn paths to debt-free college and high-earning careers.

  3. R2H College program: Provides financial support, mentorship, programming and community to historically underrepresented students pursuing post-secondary education through R2H College program. This program supports eligible graduates of the R2H High School program who are pursuing higher education as their route to high-earning career opportunities. 

  4. Golden Door Scholars (GDS): Supports undocumented and DACA or TPS holders across the U.S. in their journeys through higher education and high-earning career opportunities.
