The Program Manager for Road to Hire will support the growing College Program. The Program Manager should be motivated by the opportunity to develop staff and design programming that creates opportunities for historically marginalized youth to transition successfully to college and ultimately pursue high-earning careers in STEM and business.
The Program Manager will adeptly manage and prioritize projects, work closely with their peers, and manage a team of Student Career Coaches. This person will design, build and facilitate programming focused on the transition from high school to college and successful student persistence and retention.
Ideal candidates will possess a positive, energetic attitude and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. Additionally, the successful candidate will understand that people are the greatest asset within the College Program and will cultivate, challenge, and develop a strong, high-performing team. A first-hand understanding of the skills, knowledge, and competencies required to successfully navigate the transition to college and succeed during the first two years of college is required.
This is a hybrid role based out of our South Charlotte office. The team is in office weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
What You'll Do:
- Manage, train, evaluate, and develop Student Career Coaches.
- Design, build and facilitate programming focused on the transition from high school to college and successful student persistence and retention.
- Support end-to-end program operations and results for one of Road to Hire’s key programs
- Identify current gaps/opportunities with students, our coaching model, and programming and proactively pivot approaches to address needs and present solutions
- Develop and maintain relationships with advising and student engagement departments at university partners
- Maintain comprehensive dashboards and data tracking tools to identify Scholar performance, trends and impact of program changes.
What We're Looking For:
- 4+ years of experience in academic advising, student development, and college programming
- 5+ years of experience developing and managing a high-performing team
- Evidence of managing complex projects end-to-end
- Passionate about and strongly aligned with Road to Hire’s core beliefs and educational philosophy; excited to create employment opportunities for underserved young adults
- Accountable team player with exceptional communication skills and strong organizational skills
- Results driver that has an aptitude for making real-time decisions, measuring results and changing course when necessary.
- Strong level of accountability and ability to communicate across functional teams to drive priorities, anticipate pitfalls, and raise issues before they become project blockers.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial leadership and results in corporate, nonprofit or academic setting
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to quickly build trust with direct reports and a wide variety of stakeholders
- Desire to work hands-on in a performance-based, analytically-driven, and fast-paced environment while displaying confidence and a professional presence
- Comfortable working autonomously
Compensation
- Compensation Range: $70,000-85,000*
*Note actual salary is based on qualifications, and experience.
