As an Engineering Lead, you will oversee an ambitious team of engineers on the Backend team who work to create technology that solves real-world problems in the crowdsourced delivery space. Your team’s work will evolve the architecture and design of the Roadie platform to meet the ever-increasing scalability and performance requirements.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee a multidisciplinary team of engineers through technical project management and development 
  • Implement a scalable model for software development that exceeds expectations in delivery, timing and quality
  • Apply experience and knowledge of industry best practices to support and continuously improve the performance, efficiency, and maintainability of Roadie’s platform
  • Partner with technology leadership to build technical strategy, and effectively define supporting objectives and key results for team to execute upon
  • Streamline the software development life cycle
  • Optimize engineering team by growing as needed, working to help attract top-technical talent, and continuously coaching and developing existing team members

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of software architecture and software development experience
  • 4+ years programming experience (Python, Ruby, Go preferred) 
  • 2+ years experience managing and leading engineering teams, demonstrating a track record of successful deliveries 
  • Desire for continuous improvement of processes, code, and efficiency
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex problems into digestible insights
