RMCI is experiencing significant growth, and we are on the lookout for exceptional talent to join our dynamic team. As an Estimator at RMCI, you'll support major water/wastewater projects, participate in exciting bid efforts, collaborate on Design Build and CM at Risk delivery methods, and provide essential administrative support to our innovative estimating department.
Responsibilities
- Accurately performs quantity takeoffs.
- Build estimate with anticipated productivities, crew sizes and equipment selections.
- Provides document control (sub lists, distribution of plans, addenda, etc.) for assigned projects.
- Solicits pricing for projects in the hard bid environment and collaborative delivery method.
- Abstract and competently evaluate trade and vendor bids.
- Develops pricing for basic project elements and assists in the preparation of key estimating deliverables.
- With oversight from senior personnel, develops budget uploads and purchasing plans.
- Draft scoping documents for subcontracts and purchase orders for review by senior personnel.
- Supports conceptual estimating efforts within the department, including development of basic models for review by senior personnel.
- Assists in the pricing of project logistics, including hoisting and temporary construction elements.
- Develops basic understanding of indirect costs, including insurance, taxes, and fees.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of contract documents, including blueprints, drawings, and schematics
- Strong familiarity with construction and industry practices, processes, and standards
- Ability to recognize errors or inconsistencies with project-related costs and scope.
- Professional communication and presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Accubid estimating software experience a plus
- Good detail orientation and organizational skills
- Adaptable to change in a fast-paced environment
- 2-5 years min estimating experience
