RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop secure, scalable, high-performance, and reliable (cost effective) data pipeline that enable creation of dashboards and reports for cross-functional teams.
- Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture. Contribute to the continued automation and standardization of the ETLs that balances speed vs time vs cost.
- Support data scientists and analysis in root cause analysis by providing data support to help identify potential similar issues or causes for issues in data.
- Collaborate with various stockholders to pull vehicle data from prototype/customer vehicles for fleet-level analysis.
- Collaborate with vehicle-facing stakeholders to develop metrics for real-time vehicle monitoring. Balance data processing time/resources, fidelity, and other criteria to optimize.
- Work with stakeholders including the data platform team & data scientists/engineers to assist with data-related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs.
- Implement real-time streaming jobs based on stakeholder needs. Test and verify capability are ready, including reporting or display method. Deploy to vehicle in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing queries, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
- Create data pipelines for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing their KPI metric dashboards.
- Build visualizations via Tableau and other tools to effectively communicate results.
- Construct and manage data workflows and aggregations to support reporting on live data connections.
- Lead by example to review code, look for code issues, provide meaningful and relevant feedback to engineers, stay up to date with system changes and latest technologies
- Establish technical partnerships with data scientists/engineers, and product owners/managers through brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and retrospectives.
- Own the data management technical roadmap and execution within the team aligning with peer platform organizations and product delivery, Ensure alignment with other over-arching platforms.
- Spread the data culture across the company by enabling best practices, standards, governed processes and relevant technologies in the Data platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or the equivalent in experience.
- 5+ years’ work experience in data engineering roles, building and monitoring robust data ETL and data analysis on large datasets.
- Experience supporting and partnering with data analysts and scientists is required.
- Deep knowledge in data modeling and distributed computing experience.
- Must have tech stack:
- Spark
- SQL
- Python
- AWS ecosystem
- Databricks ecosystem
- Experience in data visualization techniques (e.g, Apache Superset and Tableau).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including working in a dynamic team and communicating ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Thrive in uncertain, rapid project schedules, being able to shift priorities quickly.
