Role Summary
The Group Leader position is one of the most important here at Rivian. Our group leaders motive their teams to be their best and drive best practices to hit production milestones. Our team members and team leaders rely on the direction and support of their Group leaders for every shift to provide leadership and motivation. This Group Leader will support our in-house plastics operation.
Responsibilities:
- Drive Continuous improvement activity related to mold tuning and homeline development
- Coach and develop key skill sets across shop including; quality, mold changeovers, takeout robot programing
- Ensure team is achieving production scheduled work
- Maintains a high-quality relationship with the production managers regarding their production schedules, and the support required for machinery, potential new capital requirements.
- Works with the Plastics shop manager to identify and implement processes, equipment and functional improvements to achieve operational excellence.
- Performs and teaches all processes and assignments within the injection molding area with the ability to fill in as needed.
- Support and participate in pilot programs and model change activities including homeline development and mold tuning
- Builds and maintains relationships with team leaders and team members.
- Trains, develops, and evaluates employees.
- Plans and establishes stamping shop team agenda and ensures performance scheduling.
- Monitoring and control of capital and expense spending
- Responsible for the direct supervision of the plastics shop team leaders
- Ensure the highest level of team member and team leader training to support the operating plans.
- Responsible for the safety of employees and that all production equipment is in safe operating condition in conjunction with the safety committee and EH&S manager
- Determine team member activity
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ year experience in a manufacturing production environment
- Extensive plant level experience in a supervisory/leadership role
- Understanding and demonstrated knowledge of the different injection molding processes, molds and components
- Strong ability to problem solve with high mechanical aptitude
- Ability to manage in a fast pace environment with a positive attitude
- 5+ years of high-volume manufacturing experience
- 3+ years in manufacturing supervision, injection molding experience preferred
Education Requirement:
- Associate's Degree in a related field preferred
Physical Requirement
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day.
- Required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather.
