ROLE SUMMARY
The Senior EH&S Specialist (Ergonomics) provides an ergonomic perspective to different functional groups and levels of the organization to help make long-term optimal solutions. Through collaboration with other EH&S Specialists, and Manufacturing & Operations engineers, you would be responsible to create and document deep dive assessments of complex situations resulting in the development and improvement of the ergonomic state of diverse equipment and processes to increase workplace comfort, safety, and productivity. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and can understand complex regulations and communicate them effectively to a variety of groups with diverse interests and backgrounds. The person in this position should be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural, team-oriented environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with different functional groups to assist in the design and evaluate existing/future workstations regarding ergonomic risks
- Train and educate a diverse group of people in the organization from; Team Members to Directors
- Document and maintain best practices related to Ergonomics
- Lead collaborative problem-solving for discovered risks
- Lead ergonomic program/system at the plant level
- Collaborate with other Ergonomic Engineers to keep the Ergonomic program/system up to date
- Evaluate Workstations based on Ergonomic Risks identified
- Utilize CAD and other technologies to identify and solve ergonomic issues
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering (required);
- Master’s degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Kinesiology, or related degree (highly preferred)
- 4-7 years in the field and a minimum of 1 year's experience with Ergonomics/HMI/HF in a manufacturing environment. (Preferred automotive experience)
- Experience using; Process Simulate, Jack, and CATIA/DELMIA simulation software.
- Experience with; NIOSH lifting Equation, Energy Expenditure analysis, 3DSSPP, RULA, REBA, Bio-mechanical Model, Fatigue Analysis, Push Pull Carry Tables, Anthropometric charts, OCRA, OWAS, Duty Cycle Equation, Strain Index, Force Exertion Calculator, other Ergonomic Evaluations tools.
- Basic knowledge of ISO Ergonomic standards
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing/industrial systems
- Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and OSHA
- Competent skills in Process Simulate, CATIA/DELMIA Human Simulation, 3DSSPP,
- Competent skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Prefer SAP & Benchmark ESG knowledge.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- In the performance of the duties of this job, the employee is required to travel, and drive a motor vehicle.
