Staff Software Engineer – Front End, Connectivity
We are seeking Front End Staff Software Engineers to lead multiple initiatives as we build out Rivian's Connectivity Management Platform. The successful candidate will architect and build applications to manage the connectivity lifecycle of Rivian vehicles and future connected products.
This is what you’ll do:
- Design, extend and review software architecture – be hands on and involved with every stage of the product development life cycle
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to build user-friendly, immersive, reactive applications
- Develop state of the art code with a keen eye on profiling, browser memory usage, and load time of the apps. Establish standards and best practices for software engineering
- Consistently write useful tests for all code developed, ensuring a high quality bar is maintained
This is what you’ll need:
- 8+ years of relevant industry experience, with 6+ years of building large scale enterprise grade systems
- Experience building distributed systems at scale which can handle millions of transactions/second
- HTML5, CSS/SASS, Restful APIs, JSON, HTTP, GQL
- Comfortable navigating trade-offs to bring the right data structure and algorithms to the problem
- Meticulous around observability of the systems you build – metrics, centralized logging, tracing
- Dedicated to unit, integration testing and coverage – comfortable using tools of the trade for profiling, source control, CI/CD
- Experience and familiarity with cloud native architecture, development, and deployment practices
- Strong technical background in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technology field
- Experience building IoT solutions that involve complex connectivity lifecycles is a plus
