As a Vehicle Operations Lead, you will be a key field leader and point of contact for Vehicle Operations Specialists and on-site teammates. As a first line Lead, you will need to balance daily work requirements and responsibilities with needs of the business to provide support to our on-site teams. Vehicle Operations Leads work in coordination with Delivery Operations, Service Operations, and our fleet teams to facilitate customer deliveries, manage documentation, and provide our customers with an exceptional experience. Rivian is looking for someone who is seeking a position to grow their careers both personally and professionally.  

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4-6 associates with the ability to step in and complete all tasks associated with Vehicle Operations specialists (regardless of every level).  
  • Serve as location point of contact which includes setting schedules, communicating daily priorities and goals, requesting resources, and coordinating work efforts with other on-site team members 
  • Support the onboarding and training for all new specialists as required 
  • Apply critical thinking and an open mind with the intent to making processes better each day 
  • Responsible for conducting and leading opening/closing processes  
  • Manage charging station capacity and maintenance to ensure there is a plan of action based on scheduled customer demand and prioritization.  
  • Work with Vehicle Operations Manager to ensure that all SOPs and quality requirements are updated and accurate for site specific workflow(s).  
  • Observe work processes and validate workflows follow operational SOPs.  
  • Ensure the parking lot is safe and drivable at all times.  
  • Responsible for quality of work which includes completing quality checks, validating consistency of quality and capturing failures for upstream feedback  
  • Manage paperwork and documentation for deliveries; ensure necessary paperwork is submitted on time  
  • Oversee inventory management activities for Vehicle Operations and external teams on site 
  • Maintain a high energy and productive environment; always on the lookout for more to do 
  • Work well in team settings; proactively steps up to help cross functional teams  
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all facets of Vehicle operations including logistics, lean principles, problem solving and process optimization. Lead problem solving activities with internal and external partners on site 
  • Complete additional work and tasks as requested by the leadership team  

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with Operations, Logistics or Lot Management  
  • Previous Management experience in retail or automotive a plus 
  • Ability to safely lift up to 30 Ibs 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain local sales licenses if applicable in your state 
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States 
  • Valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record
  • Previous EV or detailing experience a plus  
  • Ability to support customers on nights and weekends 
  • Proficiency with computers and software 
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment that changes day to day 
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 40% of the time) as required to support other market launches and operations. 
  • Fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus (proof required)
