The Test Software Developer will create software used in the automated manufacturing testing of Rivian systems and components.
Develop software which communicates with multiple stimulus measurement devices such as CAN adapters, Data Acquisition Systems such as NI hardware, FLIR cameras, and battery cycler systems.
Work closely with multiple teams to design ultra-reliable test systems meeting test coverage and test time goals.
Support technical issues with existing test systems while concurrently developing the next generation systems.
Support technical meetings with team members and management to discuss feature requests, code reviews, and planning activities.
Debug and analyze performance of Test System Software in the Development lab and on the manufacturing stations.
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering.
3+ years’ experience in Python programming including multi-threading and multi-core programming. C, C++, C# also desirable.
Experience with bus standards such as UDS, SPI, I2C, CAN, CAN FD, LIN, MODBUS, TCP-IP, and UDP-IP.
Desire to contribute ideas and solutions in a multidisciplinary engineering team
Strong interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in using electronic test equipment for debugging at the hardware level (DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.)
Ability to be creative/resourceful - to work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
Additional preferred skills:
Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
Experience Jama & Jira
Experience with Vector CANAlyzer and PCAN USB / CAN adapters
Experience with Vision systems such as FLIR cameras
Experience with Electric Vehicle Battery Testing
Experience with Electric Vehicle Inverter/Motor Testing
Embedded software development experience
Experience with configuration management software (SVN, GIT, etc.)
