Work with design engineering team to develop and establish a design that lends itself to high production while ensuring built in high quality during the manufacturing process
Research and develop hand tools, jigs and fixtures for improved build quality and process ergonomics
Perform time analysis using a standard motion time system (MODAPTS), estimate production times, staffing requirements, and costs
Develop work instructions, standardized work, process flow, and process documentation to ensure manufacturing process is being followed
Investigate assembly issues and implement solution by reviewing product design, process sequence plan, and builds affecting production and work during stages of New Product Launch -Null Series( Virtual Builds), Production Trials, and SOP using PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) approach
Work with line leads and suppliers in sourcing, developing, commissioning, and validating automation equipment, lift assists, and torque arms etc., for a successful launch with a key focus on timing and quality
Co-ordinate with team to determine and introduce optimum plant layout, equipment, tooling, and racking in General Assembly to achieve maximum efficiency
Challenge assumptions that are not backed by a thorough engineering evaluation, and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth vehicle launch and new product introductions
Promote safe work practices as the highest priority and implement objectives for ergonomics, health/safety and 5S housekeeping
Train production team member’s in new or existing methods and/or processes
Think fast, prioritize, and make decisions that benefit Rivian.
Ensure safety, quality, cost, timing & throughput targets are achieved on all projects.
Be part of a world-class Engineering Team, with a focus on high quality work and rapid project deployment.
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college of university.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with key manufacturing concepts (cycle time analysis, quality control, equipment efficiency, etc.) a strong plus.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing as well as ability
communicate efficiently with all necessary parties on a regular basis
Experience in a manufacturing environment and familiarity with key manufacturing concepts (cycletime analysis, quality control, equipment efficiency, six sigma DMAIC (optional), lean assemblyprinciples, etc.) a strong plus
Experience and/or Knowledge in DOE, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance, Torque Tooling, ErrorProofing, and PFMEA
Experience in using 2D & 3D Modeling tools like AutoCAD, CATIA/ENOVIA, Solid works, and GoogleSketch
Reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings or Blueprints with keen attention on details
Project Management and effective presentation skills
Problem analysis, decision making, and problem resolution skills with quality orientation
PC applications – MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS Access, Visio
