 Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, scalability, and administration of fault-tolerant data systems
  • Implement company-wide distributed database solutions aimed at high-performance and extensibility
  • Guide and mentor team members to innovate and take on ambitious, ambiguous, and massively distributed computing challenges
  • Make pragmatic data-driven decisions, clearly articulate logical reasoning
  • Research and incrementally improvement and optimize solutions to data flow across the company.
  • Ingest and rapidly become an expert in new technologies, standards, and protocols.
  • Demonstrate front-line leadership with an emphasis on excellence and quality in everything performed. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and evolving high-performance distributed solutions
  • Professional experience administering and scaling traditional SQL RDBMs; MySQL, MSSQL, PostgreSQL
  • Professional Experience with CockroachDB, FoundationDB, Riak, Mongo, ClickHouse, or similar non-relational data systems
  • Expert understanding of distributed data systems and trade-offs; SQL, NoSQL, Messaging Queue (Kafka, MQTT, RabbitMQ)
  • Expert understanding of Git, and development workflow
  • Professional experience with UNIX, and shell automation scripting
