Rivian is growing at a rapid pace and we are looking for a Manager of Talent Development to be responsible for managing Rivian’s talent reviews, performance management processes, continuous listening strategy, assessment tools, and supporting enterprise-wide employee engagement initiatives. This role will activate and continuously build innovative talent management programs and processes to improve the engagement, performance, and movement of talent across Rivian.


  • Be a key driver in the creation, development, execution, and continuous improvement of talent programs and processes such as:
    • End-to-end talent reviews, integrated talent planning, top talent identification, reporting, and succession management plans with senior leaders
      • Provide a framework for leaders and Business Partners enabling them to conduct talent/succession review activities within their teams.
      • Define talent review program success metrics, and evaluate and document results, and ensure consistent application across the executive population. Ensure alignment and linking of talent/succession plans with other exec initiatives. Be an expert and be up-to-date on the latest industry best practices to provide specialist advice and support to colleagues and end-users with regards to talent assessment and succession planning.
    • Talent assessment strategy and toolkit for individuals, teams, and leaders
    • Performance management processes that reinforce a culture of feedback and growth
    • Company listening strategy, including bi-annual engagement, onboarding, exit, performance, and ad hoc surveys
    • Consistent approach to goal-setting for individuals and teams
    • Enterprise Coaching strategy, including methods, tools, and operational logistics
  • Creates, utilizes, and embeds organizational development approaches and tools to drive engagement efforts, retention strategies, team development, culture enhancement efforts, and other talent development initiatives.
  • Leads other talent development programs through the collection of data and insights used to determine individual, teams, and organization effectiveness opportunities and strengths.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to both Business Partners and business leaders, applying your business-focused approach to help translate and align business objectives to executive talent strategies



  • 7+ years of experience leading and implementing enterprise-wide organizational development/ talent development programs
  • Ability to lead through influence in a matrixed environment and demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative and team environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, interact, influence, and communicate at all levels with excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong Project Management and delivery focused
  • Experience in progressive, fast pace and hyper-growth organizations
  • Manufacturing, automotive, and/or tech industry experience preferred
  • Experience in researching, developing, and maintaining relationship with talent and technology vendors to deliver programs
  • Outstanding analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to determine root causes and provide solutions
  • Expert level PowerPoint and Excel skills
  • Current: Ability to work 100% remotely with strong comfort level using Zoom video, Slack, and Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and people-related technologies
  • Future (post COVID-19): Ability to travel regularly (30%) to other Rivian office locations
