We operate development centers in Plymouth, Michigan; Southern California (Irvine, Carson & LA); Silicon Valley (San Jose and Palo Alto); Vancouver, British Columbia; and Surrey, England; as well as a manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois.
Responsibilities:
- Organize, prepare and supervise Range and Efficiency tests
- Coordinate benchmarking activities
- Define test plan requirements based on program targets and timing
- Supervise Range and Efficiency certification testing.
- Work with Attribute owners to define test cases and processes
- Use dyno testing to measure vehicle efficiency and correlate range predictions
- Coordinate Coast Down testing
- Log relevant test data through CAN
- Provide test data to simulation team to correlate and validate models
- Communicate EPA, WLTC and other standardized range metrics
- Develop, improve and maintain data processing toolboxes
Qualifications:
- BS + 2 years, MS+ 1 years or PhD +2 in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
- Experienced in physical testing
- Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to engineering analysis techniques
- Experience with industry standard energy & efficiency analysis & simulation tools
- Deep knowledge of technologies impacting energy consumption, performance and drive quality
- Engineering development experience with BEVs
- Specific knowledge of engineering mechanics, physics, and fundamental understanding of electric motors, power electronics and advanced battery technology
- Familiarity with open-source coding software packages (e.g. Python)
- Knowledge of vehicle level testing, development, calibration pertaining to energy & efficiency preferred
- Experience of preparing formal reports summarizing analysis results
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skill
- Dynamic and powerful attitude
