Responsibilities
- You will be responsible for leading Body Closure System Integration requirements, supporting Closures DFMEA’s, DVP’s & Functional Safety deliverables through all Rivian project milestones at a Systems Level. Specific areas of System Focus:
- Closing Efforts
- Fit and Finish of margins
- Closures air leakage and Sealing
- Entry/Exit
- System Architecture Set-up in the Studio for Glass drop/Hinge Swing.
- All customer closures interactions
- Prototype Build Coordination/including Pre-builds
- The candidate will work within a matrix organization whilst delivering towards project-based goals set by the program management team.
- The scope of the role covers all Closure projects from cradle to grave, program inception through to production vehicles in the field.
- Responsible for ensuring the Body Closure System content is delivered robustly on-time via the Rivian Development process.
- To accurately track status versus project milestones, you will create, implement & monitor status utilizing KPI tracking tools. Namely, this will track:
- Adherence to the Rivian Design Process
- Program Timing Requirements
- Part Deliverables
- Program Color & Material compatibility
- Mule & Prototype Closures System Support
Qualifications
- First class honors degree or equivalent in an engineering or project management qualification
- A detailed knowledge of an automotive design and development process, cradle to grave development, system requirements, and general engineering best practices
- Over 10 years’ experience of Automotive Body product development, ideally as a System engineering lead.
- Deep level of understanding of one or more Body areas: Closures, BIW, Exteriors, Sealing
- A history of delivering vehicle requirements, DFMEA’s, DVP’s & Functional Safety within an OEM.
- A system approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for continuous improvement
- A deep understanding of an automotive body including an excellent understanding of those systems & components which surround & interface to the body
- A detailed knowledge of an automotive design and development process, cradle to grave development, system requirements, and general engineering best practices
- CATIA V5/V6 proficient
- A Microsoft Office suite professional
- A comfortable presenter of detailed information to a wide range of audiences
- The ability to multitask multiple tasks & projects to tight deadlines
