Role Summary
In this role you will join the charging team at Rivian to design and implement the systems in the vehicle to create an effortless charging experience. You will work with the Feature Champion to define, decompose, and coordinate the implementation of the charging system.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document requirements for the charging system using Rivian’s requirement management tool
- Design and decompose requirements for AC Charging, DC Charging, Plug and Charge, and vehicle requirements for all Rivian’s charging products
- Ensure requirement traceability from the sub-component level up to the vehicle level functional requirements
- Perform hazard analysis, fault tree analysis and write functional safety requirements to the ISO26262 standard
- Perform system and component FMEA with Rivian’s standard FMEA software tool
- Write and document diagnostics requirements
- Write and coordinate the system and component validation plans to sign off on the system
- Support HW and SW teams in integration and issue resolution
- Coordinate the system delivery and timing with feature champion, program managers, and stakeholders
Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related degree
- 2+ years’ experience in Charging Systems preferred
- Experience using requirements management tools such as Jama or DOORS
- Deep understanding of J1772, DIN70121, ISO15118
- Understanding of ISO 15118 Plug and Charge
- Understanding of charging hardware and HV systems
- Ability to decompose requirements from user stories down to low level technical details
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Self-starter and ability to set a direction and guide the execution of a system
