Job Summary

Implement and improve joining systems and joining processes through project lifecycles.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with production team to ensure successful ramp and long-term production
  • Perform continues joining process optimization in current and future model production
  • Lead and assist production in all quality and process related weld topics and issues

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Material, Mechanical, Welding Engineering or similar technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Understanding fundamentals of joinability of steel or aluminum
  • Knowledge of the process and equipment for self-pierce riveting, flow drill screw, clinching, spot welding, GMAW welding, projection welding, laser welding/brazing, friction stir welding, and hybrid join/bonding.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in working within 2D & 3D CAD environments.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
