Role Summary

The Rivian Explore Team was created ensure a steady cadence of novel product development that fuels Adventure. The Explore Team compliments Rivian’s vehicle development organization—adding a consumer product, design, and development center of excellence— to realize the potential of the Rivian brand.  

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Engineering colleagues and Industrial Designers to create new-to-the-world products across the Adventure Products category.  
  • Employ your skills and passion for human-centered design and design research to inform the look, feel and functional requirements of all products.  
  • Create concept sketches, mechanical designs, physical prototypes, and presentation materials to effectively communicate ideas to teammates. 

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 
  • Ability to operate common prototyping and fabrication tools 
  • A passion for human-centered product design, and a strong desire to engineer consumer products for the Adventure Products category.  
  • Experience with various prototyping and hand-fabrication methods 
  • A desire to solve difficult problems and create the best product for Rivian’s customers 
  • CAD experience (any software), and a willingness to learn and work in Catia
