In this role you will be assisting the Aerodynamics team at Rivian in all aspects of Aerodynamic and Thermal design of Rivian vehicles. In this role, you are expected to learn, assist, and perform alone the following activities:
Full-scale and scale wind tunnel testing of vehicle exterior aerodynamics
Thermal chamber/Climatic tunnel testing of vehicle thermal performance
Computational (CFD) simulations of vehicle HVAC systems
Computational (CFD) simulations of vehicle thermal performance and human thermal comfort
Participation and evaluation of physical human thermal comfort testing
Data-analysis and methods development to analyze and present results
Creation of presentations to distribute information to larger business
Pursuing a Master's in Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
Knowledge of Fluid Dynamics experience (skill or hands on), thermal dynamics, MATLAB required
CFD Exposure, research experience in a lab setting or relevant publications a plus
FSAE experience preferred
Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical qualifications may require testing in a lab environment
Working Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week required
Less than 10% travel may be required
