Role Summary
The stamping intern will lead projects in stamping focused on cost savings through material optimization, as well as downtime reduction through analysis of productivity and equipment related bottle necks or issues. Key areas of focus for the project lead includes project scope definition, data collection, and improvement implementation. This position will have heavy follow through with the production floor.
Responsibilities
- Define project scope for OEE increase, as well as material savings projects
- Work with Tool & Die department to evaluate raw material reductions during new model launch for Rivian Truck and SUV as well as early die development for Amazon Van
- Pareto generation to understand and prioritize issues
- Collection of data from various production systems including MES, SAP, and other reporting methods
- Work with engineering, production, and maintenance to develop solutions that can be implemented on the production floor with safety, quality, cost, and delivery in mind
- Follow through with implementation of improvement projects on the production floor
- Report on status of projects to upper management
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelors or masters degree in Mechanical engineering or Industrial engineering
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong excel and office skills
- 2D & 3D modeling experience
- Strong process skills, ability to comprehend a wide variety of manufacturing processes
- Strong data management skills
