Responsibilities
Primary responsibility includes selecting metallic materials based on application requirements and materials capability
Specifying metallic materials for vehicle applications, including vehicle structures, chassis, as well as propulsion systems
Providing engineering supports through DFMEA, including system durability
Providing manufacturing and quality guidance based on PFMEA on component fabrication, including heat treatment
Provide materials modelling supports for virtual engineering, including Durability and other Multiphysics simulations
Providing failure analyses and solution on metallic parts and systems
Providing material validation to specification and application
Qualifications
BS/MS/Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
Sound knowledge of polymers and various families of engineering plastics
7+ years practical experiences in automotive industry supporting performance plastics
Work effectively both independently and in a collaborative environment
Very organized and detail oriented in documentation and reporting, as well as cross functional data management
Exceptional communication skills
