Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility includes selecting metallic materials based on application requirements and materials capability
  • Specifying metallic materials for vehicle applications, including vehicle structures, chassis, as well as propulsion systems
  • Providing engineering supports through DFMEA, including system durability
  • Providing manufacturing and quality guidance based on PFMEA on component fabrication, including heat treatment
  • Provide materials modelling supports for virtual engineering, including Durability and other Multiphysics simulations
  • Providing failure analyses and solution on metallic parts and systems
  • Providing material validation to specification and application

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/Ph.D. in Chemistry, Materials Science/Engineering, or Chemical Engineering
  • Sound knowledge of polymers and various families of engineering plastics
  • 7+ years practical experiences in automotive industry supporting performance plastics
  • Work effectively both independently and in a collaborative environment
  • Very organized and detail oriented in documentation and reporting, as well as cross functional data management
  • Exceptional communication skills
