Role Summary
In this position you will be responsible for providing vehicle range and efficiency analysis to Attribute Owners.
Responsibilities

Correlate Simulation models to test data at full vehicle and subsystem level

Complete Design of Experiment (DoE) Studies and create engineering reports with data driven suggestions

Communicate simulation results and recommendations to Attribute Owners

Development of new procedures and analytical methodologies where needed

Use simulation to investigate effects of advanced propulsion technologies on range & Efficiency

Collaborate with performance, vehicle dynamic and driveability attributes to evaluate effects of recommendations on other attributes
Qualifications
-
BS + 5 years, MS+ 2 years or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
-
5+ years’ experience in propulsion systems, of which minimum 2 years on Hybrid / BEV energy analysis/modelling/simulation/ testing

Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to engineering analysis techniques

Experience with industry standard energy & efficiency analysis & simulation tools

Deep knowledge of technologies impacting energy consumption, performance and drive quality

Engineering development experience with BEVs
-
Specific knowledge of engineering mechanics, physics, and fundamental understanding of electric motors, power electronics and advanced battery technology

Experience, creating, modifying and maintaining Plant models

Familiarity with open source coding software packages (e.g. Python)

Knowledge of vehicle level testing, development, calibration pertaining to energy & efficiency preferred

Experience and application of optimization theories and methodologies

Experience with system analysis and applying systems engineering methods

Experience with control function implementation

Knowledge of applied optimization and design of experiments

Experience of preparing formal reports summarizing analysis results
-
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team work skill
