Shift: Day
Internship Goals:
- Conduct regular audits of work areas, equipment, and processes to identify hazards - recommend corrective actions
- Update and create Job Safety Analysis via BasicSafe
- Collaborate with safety coordinator to develop risk mitigation strategies
- Help facilitate the online safety training platform via Vector Solutions - Convergence
- Help facilitate hands on safety training sessions
- Assist with pre-shift meeting safety discussions
- Assist in investigating workplace incidents, accidents, or near misses
- Assist with Root Cause Problem Solving Meetings (RCPS)
- Assist with leading Monthly Safety Committee Meetings
- Assist with policy updates and program reform
- Lead safety projects with the assistance of the Safety Coordinator
- Perform annual safety program performance audits
- Assist with LOTO document audits and upkeep
- Keep mill up to date with compliance calendar
Requirements:
- Minimum 3.0 overall GPA required
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related majors
- Basic understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Standards
- Candidate must be willing to relocate to be within driving distance of the facility
- Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
