In this role, you will serve as a Director of Mission Operations to solve our customer’s uniquely complex problems in challenging operational environments and a rapidly evolving market that we are helping to pioneer . Rhombus uses data-driven technology to equip our clients with the tools they need to solve the complex, interconnected challenges they face.

What you’ll do: 

As a Director of Mission Operations, you’ll orchestrate the deployment of Rhombus solutions across products, services, and other areas in support of client missions. Through deep cross-functional collaboration with our technical, client-facing, and executive teams, Mission Operators drive delivery to the field and do whatever’s needed to get solutions into clients hands. We are obsessed about engagement and keeping our finger on the pulse of how clients interact with our products. This helps us improve the user experience and evolve their operational tactics and techniques. We rapidly action client feedback and work with technical and client-facing  teams to quickly address potential issues. 

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining close relationships with senior executives and leaders of our multiple clients, working with these stakeholders to fully understand their needs, and then fully executing these partnerships from solutioning to implementation.You must thrive in ambiguity while navigating the fog and friction of an operation.  

This role requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance. Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret or TS/SCI clearance or higher is preferred.  

Responsibilities 

  • Drive the delivery of products and solutions to customers by orchestrating and diagnosing pain points end-to-end across data, analytics, models, software, and infrastructure 
  • Create, sustain, and scale processes & playbooks to execute programs & projects across client sites 
  • Independently solve urgent & ambiguous operational challenges across mission areas, client sites, and product offerings while collaborating across functions and teams 
  • Manage the end-to-end execution of key initiatives and projects from the C-Suite through front-line analysts regardless of level 
  • Coordinate and implement rapid response plans to address client feedback and user-reported issues 
  • Be our partner in building an agile, innovative, and resilient operations practice at Rhombus  

Qualifications 

  • A Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g., software development, national security, etc.) or work experience is preferred 
  • At minimum 5 years experience in a fast-moving technology company (start-up experience is highly desired), defense contracting, or operational military experience is required 
  • Experience with enterprise or government software development, delivery, and/or support is desired 
  • Experience building initiatives from scratch, developing research-informed strategies, and crafting implementation plans is a plus 
  • A strong track-record of delivering high quality, on-time, results 
  • Understands the vital importance of a sense of humor in the face of adversity
